We live right in the midst of the Wind River Indian Reservation. So, naturally we have a wide variety of places to explore. Recently, we sought adventure in Dubois, Wyoming and the lovely land which encompasses the Shoshone National Forrest. Yellowstone National Park doesn't sit too far away and boy was it tempting to keep on driving. Adjusting to the small town lifestyle and country living has definitely given me the chance to see the remarkable and stunningly beautiful world God has created. Every place we've lived is absolutely gorgeous in its own special way!

Atlantic City

We packed our baby and drove off on Sunday afternoon to explore this rustic, quiet town. Ghost like, really. Tyler braved the gusts of wind and low 30 degree temperatures to go exploring... I chickened out and stuck to a point and shoot method out the car window. Our adventure took us to Atlantic City, Wyoming, a gulch located near South Pass. It is an old mining settlement founded during the Gold Rush in the 1800's. I'm not sure I'd be so willing to pack my bags to start up a town and hope to land it rich on some gold, but I'm always intrigued by the way people lived and their history.

Hubby Highlight
Since I spend most of my time sharing what I love, I thought I'd highlight my hubby today! Tyler LOVES draft horses, especially these beauties. Quite the man for the job, he's perfect for the size of these Belgian Draft Horses (Star & Stripe, respectively). I am still terrified to approach them. Believe me, it takes a serious amount of self-talk, especially when he hands over the lead rope (I look at him thinking, "Are You Crazy?") But I sure do enjoy watching him work with them. It's powerful and really fascinating. Here are a few photos of what my hubby has been up to lately....

My Man
Doesn't this look neat? I think it's fascinating when my hubby puts his team together. This is what he's been up to today - mowing hay the old fashioned way! How fun is that! (it really is fun). And quite simple to learn. Until, of course, these big Belgian Draft Horses decide to take off on you. Then what. Life on the farm. Simply simple.
