For The Baby

I've officially started on my list of "to do's" for little Aviana. I wanted to challenge myself and start crocheting her a blanket. Growing up my Mom always took time to teach my sisters and I how to crochet, but honestly, half the time my eyes were listening and my brain was dead. All we seemed to make were hot pads and beanies.  My wandering mind proved to be true when I went to buy my first hook and yarn and spent 30 minutes on the phone with my Mom only to see myself watching her a few days later on Skype as she took me through each step. I was completely lost on how to read crochet instructions in the first place, so you can imagine what it must have been like trying to read my pattern to her... good thing she's smart.

After four failures, I 'think' I have finally succeeded in not having to pull the entire blanket apart. I'm not even a quarter of the way finished, but I thought I'd share. I'm finding it quite enjoyable, and oddly therapeutic. I get a lot of thinking done and boring moments at work are productive now, although I often feel like a grandma crocheting during my lunch break. I just need a pair of glasses.

  2. Let me know if you would like for me to make a weekend trip and go up and help you with your crochet, although it sounds like your Mom got you through it!
