The Waiting Game

To all experiencing and experienced pregnant moms!! I have officially reached the "waiting game" status in this long 9+ month journey, depending on who you are of course. My journey, I'm determined, will be less than 9 months (as you all sit and giggle to yourselves saying, "I've been there before"). The only problem is I want to have this baby completely natural and let her  come when she is ready, so how do I stay determined to have her early if that's my mindset? I'm not quite sure. But, maybe she is feeling what I'm feeling, although if I were baby inside womb I don't think I'd be in such a rush to come to earth. Heaven is so much better!

I quite my job hoping to have a week or so to myself; lackadaisically bustling through my home attempting to clean, pack boxes, cook frozen meals, and craft. Surprisingly, my days have gone by faster, which is opposite to what you/I may have expected, but I am running out of things to do and discovered I was doing too much (dizzy spells, etc.) So, I finally took up the book, "Children: The Challenge" and it has done a wonderful job keeping me occupied. My early mornings, which now begin at 8-9 AM (no more 6:00 am, yay!), consist of thrown together breakfasts, a shower and my new attire... basketball shorts and Ty's t-shirts. Talk about comfy!! And I am occompanied by Ty's annual radio talk show hosts, Neal Boortz, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, or Glen Beck... Romeny this, Obama that. I think baby and I have heard it all. She's going to greet this world as a natural politician!

As most of you know I have decided to give birth at home in a water birthing tub. I'm really excited for the experience and feel it will be that much more special for Tyler and I. We have been very blessed to work with an amazing midwife who has taught me so much. We can't wait to see our little one.. life is going to be so different! After baby comes we're headed to Utah for a few weeks to enjoy family and the Thanksgiving holiday, than off to Riverton, Wyoming where our next adventure begins!! What a year it has been.

As of late (sorry for the huge delay... I lost my card reader)....

Happy Birthday to me. It was three weeks ago. I'm 26. Yay. Tyler and I were just talking about how young we feel, in that we don't feel we act our age and maybe we should grow up. Naahh.

It is my absolute favorite thing to see Tyler wear his suit on Sunday. He looks so handsome and I always tell him he's still a cowboy, but a gentleman cowboy!!

We spent a night in Tulsa watching the Phoenix Suns vs. Oklahoma Thunder. It was a "training camp" game, so nothing special. But still, very fun and we enjoyed getting out for a bit. And yes, we were in the nose bleeds. I'm thankful I wasn't too top heavy at the time :)

....And here's to all the homemaking/crafting I've been up to the past few weeks.
Crocheting

Baking and Sewing

  1. I almost did a water birth with Eleni but the hospital I birthed at didn't offer it. I'm thinking about it with this one. Please post your birth story and let me know how it goes! Good luck! The waiting period can be hard, I heard black licorice could initiate labor so I ate lots of that haha, o and pineapple :) (probably all old wives tales!)

  2. I'm excited to hear about your birth. I had my 2nd with a midwife, all natural in a birthing center and labored in the birthing tub, that's my plan with all subsequent children too. LOVED it!!!!! Can't emphasize that enough! Best of luck, can't wait to see what you're little one looks like :)

  3. Good luck Leilani! I know you'll do great with the water birth. It does get hard just waiting and waiting... I tried every natural induction technique out there and Landon still just came when he wanted. Hang in there and let her get nice and ripe. It's totally with it to have a healthy and very alert baby.
